A Second Swordsman in the Desert [Training] Empty
PostSubject: A Second Swordsman in the Desert [Training]   A Second Swordsman in the Desert [Training] EmptyFri Oct 15, 2010 2:07 am

Upon these barren sands stood a noble swordsman. His reasons for being on this Saiyan-infested planet, Vegeta, was currently unknown. He him self was not a Saiyan, he was not even a natural life form- but an artificial being.
His name is Ferrum. Long ago, he was once known by another name, his actions and choices were not his own. But that is long behind him- he has moved on. Years have passed since he last had to fight for the Order to which he belonged, but he could sense a dark future brewing. Ferrum must begin to prepare for the trials ahead.

Appearing as though a young man, he really was far off from so, this being has face his share of struggles and battles, but the years have weakened him. It is time for him to regain the powers he has lost.

"Now where has that fledgling run off to...he's never been late before," Ferrum spoke to him self.
"I supposed I shall begin without him."
Ferrum unsheathed a blade from his back, and held it up in front of him. It glistened in the bright, searing desert sunlight. You could tell that like it's master, the blade had seen it's share of battles- but it was a marvelous, finely crafted weapon. Ferrum swung and stabbed the air a few times, to regain a feel for it. It has been long since Ferrum used this sword again, and long since it had cut into flesh.

He took a deep breath, "Prepare thyself, beast of the sand," he whistled loudly, and there was a long, ominous silence.

Suddenly, the ground began to rumble... Vegeta was home to more than just Saiyans and Tuffles... There was a loud crash, as a monstrous creature burst out from the sand. Dust particles scattered throughout the area- but this made no difference to Ferrum, he possessed no eyesight anyway. His senses heightened, and he could feel the beast scurrying this way.

The creature was large and reptilian, it bared huge claws and jagged, needle-like teeth. It let out a booming roar, and brought down it's claws viciously toward Ferrum. The swordsman sensed and anticipated the attack, and dodged it with a nimble leap to the side. The beast's claws crashed into the blazing sand with full force, hurting the beasts itself. Ferrum took the opportunity and sped under the reptile's legs, moving behind it, and brought his blade upward in one swift movement. Metal met flesh, as it sliced cleanly through the beast's tail. But something unexpected happened...

The dismembered tail fell to the ground, and Ferrum stood vulnerable. A new tail grew back almost instantly from the stump of the old, and whacked Ferrum head-on, knocking him into the sand. He lifted him self up, and with a mouthful, praised the beast's adaptation,
"That's a useful ability you have got there..."

Spinning around, the reptilian creature attempted a follow-up attack with its tail- but Ferrum was prepared this time. He timed his jump, and as the tail approached him, he thrust his sword downward. The sharpened blade slid completely through the meaty tail, and Ferrum dug it as deep into the ground as he could. With he creature's tail immobilized, Ferrum ran up it and unto the beast's back. He hopped into the air, and came down with an axe kick to the creature's cranium- incapacitating it.

The reptile fell to the ground, passed out. Ferrum walked calmly back to get his sword, and then positioned him self atop the beast's head. He looked down unto it, and held his blade upward, "Thank you for your food..." Ferrum thrust the blade into the beast, effectively killing it.

<Some Time Later>

Now I know what you are thinking- "but Androids don't eat, right?" Right.
But this meal was not for Ferrum, but for a group whose name is currently a mystery.

Ferrum dragged the body across the desert floor. It had been cooked thoroughly beforehand so it stayed preserved long enough for him to arrive to his destination- which he finally did. He stood in the most random spot in the desert, in front of a seemingly normal boulder. Ferrum dropped the meat for a second, and pressed his palm unto the stone.

A narrow passageway opened up, leading deep into the ground. Ferrum pulled the game down the stone staircase, as he went lower and lower, the temperature became cooler and cooler. The difference between this and the desert outside was absurd. Though being an Android, the crazy hot temperatures of the desert did not bother him as much as a normal person.

At first, this underground labyrinth seemed like an assortment of simple tunnels, but Ferrum reached a large, beautifully crafted room. The detail put into its construction was amazing. Ferrum dropped the large amount of meat he had brought in the center, and called out through the tunnels,
"DINNER HAS ARRIVED!"
His voice echoed through the tunnels, a few moments passed with no response.

An the silence continued.

Ferrum waited a few more minutes, hoping for a response.
"Are you kidding me? He is not here either. Where in the world is that boy?"

Ferrum sighed, and made his way through a large stone gate at the end of the room.
He entered an even larger room, the earthen walls here had endured quite a beating. This was the training room for the Order, Ferrum was planning to spend most of his time here. He was prepared to go weeks without seeing the light of day, if that is what it took for his lost power to return.

Though there was still the small detail of the "fledgling" Ferrum had been looking for the rest of the day. The fledgling was a relatively new member to the Order, and Ferrum was hoping to get some much needed training with him if he was to ready him self for the trials ahead. There were not many members left in the Order, so it was key that each member that was left got in the most training as possible, and became as powerful as they could.

Ferrum stood in the center of the room, and took a deep breath...he could feel an ominous energy brewing somewhere in the universe.

'These are dark days approaching, I can feel it...Darryl, I need you back here,' The thought echoed in Ferrum's mind.

This is probably the only 1000+ word training I'm ever gonna do xD
I just wanted to get a good running start.
